Group of Valley surgeons to build stand-alone medical facility

A group of valley surgeons is striking out on their own

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WYTV) – A group of valley surgeons is striking out on their own, planning to open a new stand-alone medical facility in Boardman.

A groundbreaking was held Wednesday at the future site of the Orthopedic Surgery Center. The site is just off of Western Reserve Road.

Right now, the ten physicians who make-up the practice are leasing space from Akron Children’s Hospital at its Beeghly Medical Park.

The doctors hope the new outpatient center will allow the practice to grow.

“With this new building, we will have the opportunity to deliver state of the art equipment that will improve quality and increase efficiency for both parents and physicians in the community,” said Taylor Cera, spokesperson for the Orthopedic Surgery Center.

Developers hope to have the new facility open by the end of the year.
